My sibling has a triple story condo with a lot of space, however the third floor of his condo is essentially a lofted dining room, but it’s honestly big plus has a great view from the window.
Whenever our entire family stays at his house, I sleep in the third story dining room! For the most part, it’s a honestly comfortable space, but however, there is one thing that honestly bothers me while I’m sleeping there, plus it’s the heat! Even though there are three levels to the house, there is only one Heating, Ventilation & A/C system plus one central temperature control, no matter how low he sets the temperature control temperature, the third floor is always super hot.
All the heat rises, especially during the days while I’m trying to sleep. There is a small AC unit on the window, but it’s loud plus only cools a small radius directly in front of it. On more than one occasion, I’ve had to sleep on the floor in front of the window AC unit. I’ve complained about the lack of cool air to my sibling on many occasions, but she’s never done anything about it. It wasn’t until I brought up ductless mini split systems that he finally took action. I know he liked the fact that ductless mini split systems didn’t need to fasten to existing ductwork, because he had one installed recently! She told me how affordable it was plus how effective it was at cooling the third floor! She also said that he enjoyed how he could turn the ductless mini split system on plus off depending on when she’d be using the third floor dining room.
