When my AC unit went out right before a massive heat wave, I was adamant about getting a new AC unit installed.
I didn’t want to deal with the intense heat and humidity without an AC unit, so I called every HVAC company within a 60 mile radius and begged them to come replace my AC unit.
Thankfully, I found a company to come over right away, so they came and looked at my AC unit in order to get all the correct measurements and ask me about what I wanted. When the HVAC professional was done, he told me that he would check the stock at the warehouse in order to find the AC unit that I was looking for. When he left, I was praying that he would find what I was looking for, because I didn’t want to wait. The next day, he called and told me that they had the same unit I wanted, but it was too small for my house. I didn’t understand this because I thought all AC units were one size fits all. I told him that it would be fine and that he should just install it anyway. The HVAC professional was adamant that the smaller AC unit wouldn’t work for my house because it would need to run extra hard to keep up with my cooling demands. Unfortunately, I needed to listen to the HVAC professional and wait to have my new AC unit installed until the new one was ordered and delivered. I had to live without proper AC during the heatwave, but I somehow survived.
